This year I seem to be challenging myself that little bit more. It may have started with holding a 6 foot python at work one day and being terrified as it wrapped itself around my legs and neck, or possibly from forcing myself on to a fairground ride at The Hoppings despite my ridiculous travel sickness, that throws you upside down, over and over again…
The idea came to me one metro ride to work. I love eating, baking and travelling. Why not combine them all and challenge myself to baking and blogging eighty things from around the world? I began that day and it started to consume my mind completely.
A few years ago I took a sabbatical and went on a fantastic round the World adventure, starting in China, then moving on to Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, California and Canada. Since then I’ve tried to visit a new country every year, with Morocco a couple of years ago then, last year, it was Japan and this year popped back to Australia for a few weeks.
There’s a few holidays that I had too when I was younger, with Spain, Portugal, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus and America. Everywhere I’ve been to has had amazing food. Now to recreate the best bits in the comfort of my own home, improvising and learning (a lot of) new things along the way!
Love your blog idea! I’m also trying to eat my way around the world. This July it’ll be Iceland. Keeping fingers crossed for Finland next year! Look forward to seeing more recipes!
